Frances J. Sawaya

When my husband and I retired to rural Ireland in 1998 our friends asked us what we planned to do all day. The options have been endless! Tim has restored his family’s centuries-old cottage in Killyteane; he has built a studio for my patchwork projects; he has roamed our fields with Basil and Dill, our border collies. Most of my energies are directed to things of a quiltish nature: membership in our local Erne Quilters (meeting weekly at the museum in Ballyjamesduff); writing the feature article for Gaye Grant’s Irish Quilt and Craft magazine; and teaching now and then to various small groups across this island. To satisfy my gambling habit, I play bridge as much as the traffic will allow. Frances and Tim may be contacted via email: or by snail mail: Killyteane, Carrickaboy, County Cavan, Ireland.
